IT'S GONNA BE MAY (IN QUARANTINE)
MAY IS HERE! Whether you’re working from home, homeschooling your kids, being a real life hero essential worker, or legitimately haven’t left the house in 6+ weeks (oh, hey), time truly does continue to march on.
Can you believe that it’s almost been 2 months since I was sitting here speculating about the future of my job and wondering whether or not the 45 rolls of toilet paper in my laundry room was excessive. Spoiler alert: I was sent home from my job 3 days later (still home, by the way, and will be until August at the very earliest) and that many TP rolls was in fact, NOT excessive.
I’m always aggressively productive at the start of a new month, and it’s been a while since I’ve done a “things that make me happy” post, so I put together 10 things in 5 categories that have been getting me through the quarantine days! I hope they’ll bring you a little joy as well!
ACCOUNTS I’VE LOVED FOLLOWING
Tatum the Talking Doggo - @hi.this.is.tatum
I cannot even explain to you how much joy this account brings me. I originally discovered Tatum on TikTok, but here’s the ultimate pro tip: because of TikTok’s time limits, sometimes the videos are longer (and therefore even more hilarious) on Instagram. This very good boy was rescued from Georgia and now lives in Maine. I guarantee you will fall in love with him immediately. To start off, two of my all time favorite videos are below.. I legitimately cry-laugh every single time. 😂
Tussen Kunst & Quarantaine - @tussenkunstenquarantaine
As a self-proclaimed Art History nerd, I am sooo obsessed with this account. Quarantine boredom has brought out some insane creativity and has resulted in an account full of classic masterpiece recreations, and I am HERE 👏🏻 FOR 👏🏻 IT. I mean, check out some of this awesomeness.
WHAT I’VE BEEN WEARING ON REPEAT
These J. Crew Factory lounge pants. I bought them in the light grey option back in the fall and just ordered another pair in black because they’re SO good! They are THE softest material, have a drawstring waist, back pockets, and hold up perfectly in the wash.
This tie dye tee. My color-loving self is SO happy about the fact that tie dye is having such a moment right now, and this is one of my favorite newly acquired tie dye pieces. It’s super soft, lightweight, and casual - perfect for spring and summer.
MY FAVORITE AMAZON PURCHASES
I could act like I’m ashamed of the 5 pound bag of gummy worms I purchased, but who are we kidding? Trolli gummy worms have always been my sweet tooth’s weakness, and now I have what is basically a lifetime supply of them sitting in my kitchen. I’m not even sorry.
Monopoly Deal has become an afternoon tradition during quarantine, and it is SO addicting. I shared this on Instagram a few weeks back, and y’all agreed that it’s honestly the best $8 you could possibly spend.
P.S. You can find all of my Amazon faves together in one place right here.
WHAT’S NEW IN MY ETSY SHOPS
I’ve been wanting a more permanent gift option for Mom than my bestselling temporary tattoos, so I turned the retro design into a super cute enamel pin! They’re the perfect little accessory, and a great size for a lapel, hat, or bag!
This new piece was inspired by the sidewalk chalk hearts I kept seeing all over my neighborhood throughout the first few weeks of quarantine. I sketched it late one night when I couldn’t sleep, and decided to turn it into a happy printable right here. It’s only $5 and will be delivered immediately via email so you can download it and print it out right away.
PRODUCTS I’VE BEEN LUSTING OVER
Can we just have a moment of silence for this ridiculously adorable Keurig single-serve machine? I DO NOT NEED THIS. Yet, I legitimately can’t stop thinking about it. Do I need it? Maybe I need it. Yeah, I think I need it.
We’re gonna need a second moment of silence for this STUNNING wall mirror from SzkloGlass, don’t you think? I’m fresh outta wall space in my current house, but I’m planning a renovation that will give me lots more, so this might be one of my first new decor purchases when the time comes.
Come hang out with me on Instagram and share some of YOUR favorite things getting you through quarantine!
XO, CHRISTEN
