ROCKSBOX REVIEW: KEEP YOUR JEWELRY COLLECTION FRESH WITH THIS AWESOME SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE
So, what exactly is Rocksbox?
Rocksbox is a subscription box service that allows you to “rent” designer jewelry, wear it to your heart’s content, buy it at a discounted price if you love it, or return it and receive brand new pieces to try. Plus, you can get your first month absolutely FREE! Keep reading for a full review of the service and my referral link / code.
How much does it cost?
Rocksbox is $21 per month. However, unlike other subscription boxes that only send one box per month, Rocksbox will send as many boxes as you’d like, as long as the previous one is returned (or purchased) first! Additionally, that $21 can be used as a credit toward any piece from your set that you’d like to keep, so it never goes to waste if you switch out boxes at least once a month.
Another really incredible thing about Rocksbox is that you will always stay subscribed at the rate you started, but your monthly credit will go up with the price increase! I’ve been a member for several years now, so I still pay my original monthly rate of $19, but I now have a $21 monthly credit.
You also have the option to put your account on hold. This will lock in your current subscription rate instead of cancelling and re-subscribing later when the price may have gone up. During your hold, you will not be billed, and you will also keep your access to the Rocksbox shop where you can purchase items without having them sent to you in a box first.
You can try it out and get your first month absolutely FREE by using my referral link or entering the code CHRISTENBFF2 when you sign up.
How does it work?
You’ll start off by completing a Style Profile, which asks questions like:
• What metal do you wear (gold, silver, or both)?
• What style of necklace do you like (statement, delicate, choker, etc.)? Same with earrings, bracelets, and rings.
Side note: you also have the option to choose which kinds of pieces you DON’T wear, which is awesome. My ears aren’t pierced, so I wouldn’t want to get some earrings in my box and not be able to wear them!
• What trends are you open to trying? These are always changing, so be sure to re-visit your style preferences regularly.
• Anything else you’d like your stylist to know. This can be additional styles you like/don’t like, specific designers you love, upcoming events you’d like pieces for, metal allergies, etc.
Next, you can add specific pieces to your wishlist.
The availability and selections are always changing, so you’ll want to visit your wishlist often as well. You can browse the entire selection at once, or you can narrow your search by designer, trend, category, metal, color, material, and price.
Preview your set, or let it be a surprise!
One (new-ish) feature I really love is the option to preview and swap out pieces in your upcoming set. Keep an eye on your inbox because you’ll only have 24 hours to make your decision. Or if you’re NOT a control freak like me, you can let it be a surprise!
It will probably come as a surprise to absolutely no one that I ALWAYS preview my set. This is a look at my most recent one. You can see which pieces have been granted from your Wishlist and which pieces your stylist recommends for you.
If you choose to swap something out, you can click on each individual piece and they’ll give you a few similar options to choose from. You can also click “start swap” and you’ll be able to see all of the pieces available for you to select.
For this particular box, I actually decided to swap out all 3 pieces. I loved the ones my stylist chose, but I had my eye on a few others from my wishlist, so here are my final choices!
Enjoy your set!
You can wear your pieces for as long as you’d like! There’s absolutely no limit. Just remember that you WILL get charged your subscription price every month, whether you get a new set or not. However, on the other hand, if you like to swap them out super frequently, you’ll still only pay one subscription price per month.
Purchase the pieces you love and send back the rest.
You’ll have the option to purchase any piece in your set for a discounted rate. As you can see from a previous set of mine below, the sugar skull necklace at retail costs $55, but I can purchase it through my Rocksbox set for $46. I purchased that piece and the lightning bolt necklace and decided to return the violet signet ring. Since I also had the $21 monthly credit, what would have originally been a $110 purchase was only $71!
Rocksbox also offers an additional discount if you decide to purchase all 3 pieces from your set. It’s typically around $10 off.
You can also rate each piece and leave a comment. This will help your stylist narrow down your style even further and pick out pieces for future sets.
Each box comes with a reusable bubble mailer and a prepaid label so it’s super easy to send back your box. Rocksbox will let you know when they’ve received it and your stylist will get started on your new one immediately!
Remember, you can try it out and get your first month absolutely FREE by using my referral link or entering the code CHRISTENBFF2 when you sign up.
(Full disclosure: I may receive a small commission from Rocksbox if you do! However, this post is NOT sponsored. I have been a paying member since 2014. I absolutely love this service and think you will, too!)
